OUR MOLECULAR TESTING SERVICES
Molecular Testing :
Molecular testing is a rapid testing method that involves the study and detection of molecules of DNA or Ribonucleic acid (RNA) from a sample source. This is done to serve various testing and analysis requirements for a variety of uses for customers.
The distinct advantages of molecular methods over traditional methods are :
Specificity
Molecular methods minimize false positive test results by identifying and targeting the specific molecule of interest.
Sensitivity
Availability of the amplification methodologies that are particularly useful in increasing the sensitivity to allow accurate identification of target molecules of interest though they may be present in low concentrations.
Turn Around Time
In comparison to traditional culture methods, molecular methodologies usually offer shorter turnaround times from receipt of sample to result reporting.
OUR TESTING PARAMETERS INCLUDES
[] 16S rDNA,SEQ |
In the last decade, there is a widespread demand and use of PCR and DNA sequencing, specifically 16S rDNA sequencing. It is the state-of-the-art molecular technique that allows for bacterial identification, classification, and helps other characteristics also to be studied accurately.
Various microbiological techniques are used to identify types of bacteria. However, conventional culturing and microbiology methods are time-consuming, prone to contamination, and less accurate. It takes a few days to culture bacterial cells. Some bacterial strains are difficult to culture and some are highly infectious and lethal. Nugenica uses this latest technique for the accurate identification of bacterial isolates and the discovery of novel bacteria. We provide a one-stop service performing DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing and assembly to save your time and ensure perfect analyses.
[] GMO TESTING |
Our analytical services comprise a whole range of GMO testing from screening and identification, to precise quantification of trace components of GMO material. GMOs are detectable with different methods. However, only the detection of DNA with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and the detection of proteins with immunological methods reach the required high sensitivity standard.
Nugenica specializes in qualitative and quantitative DNA analysis with PCR and also offers the most comprehensive portfolio for GMO analysis of feed and food. Our experience in sample preparation of complex materials, GMO testing with qualitative and quantitative PCR makes us experts at determination of GMO contents in food, feed and seed.
[] A1 & A2 GENOTYPING |
Raw milk is the foundation material for the production of drinking milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, and other products. It may contain: pure A1 casein milk proteins, a mixture of A1/A2 casein milk proteins or pure A2 casein milk proteins. Currently, A2 milk is marketed as a healthier choice as compared to regular A1 milk. Proponents assert that A2 has several health benefits and is easier to for people with milk intolerance to digest.
Nugenica uses A1/A2 beta-casein testing protocol accurately assess the type of milk. Measuring A2 casein directly in dairy products would not tell us whether the product is a mixture of A1/A2, or pure A2 casein. However, after establishing the absence of A1 casein, we can determine the quantity of A2 beta-casein alone, as a proportion of total caseins or total true protein.
[] DETECTION OF ADULTERANTS |
Food Adulteration is the practice of adulterating food or contamination of food materials by adding a few substances. Addition of these reduces the value of nutrients in food and also contaminates the food, rendering it unfit for consumption. These adulterants may be available in food products which we consume daily, including dairy products, cereals, pulses, grains, meat, vegetables, fruits, oils, beverages, etc.
Nugenica employs various DNA-based methods to detect food adulterants. We use effective and precise methods such as the Molecular markers systems used in genetic engineering to mark a place where defective and mutated proteins have been replaced by others that function correctly.
[] GENOTYPING |
Genotyping is the process of determining differences in the genetic make-up (genotype) of an individual by examining the individual’s DNA sequence using biological assays and comparing it to another individual’s sequence or a reference sequence. It reveals the alleles an individual has inherited from their parents.
Nugenica offers expertise in DNA genotyping analyses including: SNP genotyping, Microsatellites / STR / FLA / IDAA, Sequencing based genotyping, Genome wide association studies (GWAS), Human identification, Copy number variation. SNP Genotyping allows you to take a deep look into the genome or search for unknown genotype-phenotype connections or genotype already known variations.
We offer an entire range of gene expression services from single target to whole transcriptome analysis. We use traditional PCR based markers like RAPD, ISSR, SSR for determining polymorphism among samples. We also provide additional analysis services to identify the degree of polymorphism and diversity in population/ origin of the species or the relatedness.
[] FOOD ALLERGEN TESTING |
Food Allergens are substances which we eat or inhale but when they interact with our immune system, may cause allergic reactions. Usually dust, pollen and pet dander are considered as common allergens but human beings are susceptible to the allergic reactions from consuming food products.
Nugenica provides allergen testing services for detecting levels of the concentration of food allergens like eggs, gluten, nuts, milk, soy, shellfish, fish etc. Food products can be thoroughly analyzed for presence of food allergens so that you can warn your customers about it through labelling.
[] BACTERIAL/VIRAL/ FUNGAL PATHOGEN DETECTION |
A full suite of pathogen detection tests is available using both molecular and classical cultural techniques that follow industry validated methods. We help customers resolve regulatory compliance, FDA detention, and persistent contamination issues. At Nugenica we use DNA based method for the pathogen detection by qualitative by PCR method and Quantitative by Real-time method.
[] ANIMAL & PLANT SPECIATION |
Species determination plays a central role in the regulation of the genuineness and marketability of a product of animal origin. It has become important that the species type be correctly declared and also be verified for such products. Sensitive procedures for verification of the species type are required-particularly for already mixed and processed products specifically for ethical and religious concerns (e.g., halal, kosher or vegetarian).
We help you adhere to current human food and animal feed regulations through our animal and plant species identification methods, qualitative PCR, quantitative real-time PCR and sequencing of mitochondrial DNA. These are applicable for: food, meat and meat products (e.g. pork, horse or ruminants like cattle, sheep or goat), fish and seafood, fish meal and fish oil, poultry, milk and dairy products, baby food, food additives, oils and fats (i.e. fish oils), animal feed, pet food, cosmetics etc.
[] CUSTOMIZED SERVICES |
We offer many other customized testing and analytical services based on your specific needs including – PCR based analysis, Real time PCR analysis, Sanger sequencing (16s r RNA sequencing, Target sequencing, genotyping, microbial identification like bacteria, fungus, actinomycetes etc.), Nanopore sequencing (Metagenomic services) and NGS services.
